Choosing accounting software: seven questions to ask first

3. 3Does it fit your operations? Inventory, projects, multiple branches or point of sale — choose for what you actually do.

5. 5Who will support you locally, and how fast?

7. 7What is the full cost — licences, users, add-ons and implementation?

Before you switch

• Clean your chart of accounts and opening balances first.
• Run the old and new systems in parallel for a month if you can.
• Train the people who will use it every day.
